Adrian Pettitt, and his wife, Vicky are fond lovers and great supporters of local food and drink and started Yorkshire Ales to showcase what the Yorkshire region has to offer. When asked what his dream job would be? Adrian replied "Yorkshire Ales - selling beer from Gods own County!
Adrian has always been a real ale enthusiast and has been a member of CAMRA for many years. After frequenting breweries, beer festivals and beer retailers across the county he realized that there was a growing number of local breweries and nowhere that had a focus purely on those breweries.
The bottle shop started in 2012 and for many years the shop boasted the “Wall of Yorkshire Ales”, customers came locally, whilst the online shop allowed customers from far and wide to purchase the bottles.
In 2014 the shop was extended to include a small bar delivering quality cask ale from small and independent Yorkshire microbreweries. Over the last 3 years the bar has evolved with the help of its customer base through feedback and great local support.
The bar now has four cask ales, a Brown Cow Brewery Pale Ale is a regular and the other three change constantly. Great Yorkshire - Yorkshire Cider & Stancill - Sheffield Pilsner are available on keg. A Yorkshire kegged beer is now available constantly on keg too !. The spirits on offer include those from Masons, Slingsby, Whittakers, Locksley, Little Red Berry, Sloe Motion and Brittains.
The bar now offers a small selection of bottles beers from small and emerging microbreweries. The venue now boasts a bar, sitting room, snug, function room and large beer garden ,this dog friendly bar can now welcome over 115 people.
In April 2017 Adrian and Vicky were very proud to be awarded the Doncaster CAMRA District Pub of the Season.
At Yorkshire Ales we strive to provide unique events running through-out the year such as Yorkshire Tapas Evenings, Cocktail Nights, Gin Tastings, Willow Weaving plus lots more!
